Universities at Shady Grove Application Checklist

Domestic Applicants

1.  Complete the University of Maryland, College Park at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) Undergraduate Admission Application.

2.  Submit a non-refundable application fee of $55 with your application. You may mail your non-refundable application fee (payable to the University of Maryland) to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.  Please include the student's name and birth date on the check. We regret that we cannot honor debit cards or cash.

3.  Request that an official copy of all your college transcripts be sent from the registrar of all former college(s), directly to the following address. Please note, a final transcript must be sent upon completion of any courses in progress. Additionally, request official copies of Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exam results to be submitted to the following address.

4.  Submit a list of courses in progress (if not included on the current school transcript).

5.  If you wish to be considered for in-state tuition, complete the Residency Information form in the USG Application.


International Applicants

In addition to the documents above, international applicants should also:

1.  Submit the Certification of Finances (in the USG Application), including supporting documents that demonstrate support of $41,997.00 per year.

2.  Provide proof of English Proficiency. If English is not your native language- regardless of your citizenship-you must provide the university with verification of your proficiency in English. Scoring 480 or higher on the critical reading of the
SAT I will exempt you from this requirement. All others should have an official report of their scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), sent directly to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by the appropriate application deadline.

3.  Submit photocopies of 1094 Arrival/Departure record, visa stamp and current I-20 and DS2019 form.
