Daily Visits

We have created a variety of options for you to visit UMD. Choose the one that best fits your needs or try them all!

Registration for our on-campus programs opens approximately one to two months in advance of each event. After you register for a visit, you’ll receive a confirmation email sent to the email address used to register.

Join us for a 90-minute campus walking tour led by a student guide. Arrive 25 minutes early to view a brief video showcasing important admission reminders and the exciting things happening at UMD. Registration is encouraged.

Learn the ins and outs of the university and the application process in a 35-minute information session presented by an admission representative. After your session, take a 90-minute campus walking tour led by a student guide. Registration is required.

If you are bringing a group of 10 or more high school students to campus, you will need to schedule a group visit. Groups of prospective college students will take a 90-minute walking tour of campus led by a student guide. To schedule a group visit, please email to submit a request. We ask that you allow two to three business days for your request to be processed.

Visits for groups of elementary and middle school students, visiting faculty and community groups are provided by Visitor Center student staff. 

Get one-on-one answers to your questions about the university, our programs and services, and the admissions process. Come in Monday through Friday, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., (excluding university holidays) on a walk-in basis for assistance. Just check-in at the front desk of the Rossborough Inn. Attending walk-in hours is not an admissions interview and does not have any influence on your admission decision, invitation to a special program or eligibility for a merit-based scholarship. We do not evaluate transcripts or provide academic counseling during walk-in hours.

Learn first-hand what it’s like to #BeATerp in this immersive experience. Terp For A Day sessions during the spring semester are reserved for admitted students only; the fall semester is open to prospective and admitted studentsRegistration is required and will become available in mid-February.

Grab your phone and your walking shoes and prepare to see the iconic sights of the University of Maryland! This is a great way to tour campus when our information sessions and student led tours are not available.

Get all your questions answered. It won't be hard to picture yourself at home here for the next four years.
